The one-and-only Zerina Akers, celebrity stylist and Emmy-award-winning costume designer, rejoined us in the L’AGENCE showroom. As we transition to cold weather fashion, Akers shares her secrets on how to find and wear the perfect coat.

Akers’ first pick combines refined tweed with a cool, cropped silhouette. When it comes to styling, Akers has a soft spot for our coated denim: “It’s so cool because they really give the look and feel of leather.”

The Showstopper

Our coat rotation wouldn’t be winter-ready without wool in the mix. To style the Olina, you have Akers’ permission to mix colors. “It has this gorgeous plum color, but I still paired it with the red coated denim,” says Akers. “I think it just makes it that much more elevated, and it feels really confident and powerful.”

The Power Coat

Next up is a classic trench coat cut from supple leather. It’s a true closet staple, pairing equally well with a suit or jeans and a tee. According to Akers, “It could be the dress, or it could complement a look.”
